Charity

In my country Iran people believe that charity could protect them from bad incidents. You can see people that pay a little charity in the beginning of the day even if they were not so religious.
I’m not believed in charity in that way and I have my reasons. In science in scrutiny of phenomena that have many parameters, using statistics could be the best way.
Let’s take a look at the car accident phenomenon. Many people in Iran pay charity and sometimes say a prayer before they start a trip to protect themselves. In developed countries people believes that protecting against bad evidences acquired by standardize cars and roads and not breaking traffic rules. Both of them may believe in terrestrial and supernatural reasons but the main reason they believe is what I said.
Comparing number of people who killed in car accidents in developed non-religious countries with non-developed religious countries shows that supernatural reasons have no effect or minimal effect compare to the terrestrial reasons.
Germany: 80 million cars and 4500 killed in a year (and in other same countries like France)
Iran: 20 million cars and 23000 killed in a year (and in other same countries like India)
I believe that helping people that have financial problem could protect us from social problem that caused by poverty but not protect us from accident or diseases. It would be better to do this in a formal and organized way and by the goal of helping them to be independent after a while, but in every way it’s ok.
And after all my heart says that a delicious food is not delicious at all when you know someone in your vicinity is hungry.
